Why Is It So Important to Know What the Armor of God Is—and How to Wear It
At CrossFit Full Armor, we believe fitness is about far more than just the body. True strength comes when body, soul, and spirit are trained together. That’s why the Bible’s picture of the armor of God (Ephesians 6:10–18) speaks directly to how we live and train today. It’s not just a metaphor—it’s a call to prepare ourselves daily for life’s battles.
What Is the Armor of God?
The armor of God is the spiritual equipment God gives us to stand strong against the challenges, temptations, and struggles we face. Just like athletes need protective gear on the field, we need protection in the spiritual realm. Paul describes it as:
The Belt of Truth – knowing and holding to God’s Word as our foundation.
The Breastplate of Righteousness – living with integrity, guarding our heart.
The Shoes of Peace – being ready to move with the gospel and stand firm in confidence.
The Shield of Faith – trusting God’s promises when doubts and fears come.
The Helmet of Salvation – securing our mind in Christ’s saving work.
The Sword of the Spirit – using God’s Word actively as our weapon in battle.
Why It Matters to Know the Armor
You wouldn’t step onto a field, into a fight, or even into the gym without the right equipment. The same is true spiritually. If we don’t know what the armor is, we’ll either go unprotected or rely on the wrong things—our own strength, our feelings, or the world’s advice. That always leaves us vulnerable.
Knowing the armor means we recognize what God has already given us. Wearing it means applying it daily, not just being aware of it. A helmet doesn’t protect if it’s left on the bench.
How Do We Wear It?
Wearing the armor of God is intentional. It doesn’t happen by accident. Here are simple steps to make it part of your life:
Pray daily – Ask God to clothe you in each piece of the armor.
Stay in the Word – Truth and the Spirit’s sword come from Scripture.
Walk in obedience – Righteousness is lived out through choices and habits.
Guard your thoughts – The helmet protects your mind from lies and doubts.
Live ready – Shoes of peace mean you’re prepared to move, share, and stand firm.

At CrossFit Full Armor, our mission is to help you strengthen body, soul, and spirit. Because when you’re fully equipped—physically fit and spiritually armed—you can step into every challenge with confidence, courage, and faith.
