The Unsustainable Model
When it comes to fitness and performance their are two main factors that eventually derail any program. These are movement selection and volume. A regularly repeated movement at a high intensity will have initial benefits due to neurological adaptation and organic response. However enough volume will cause too much consistent damage to the muscle. Without the ability to recover the training benefit can’t be achieved and the chance for injury is very high. A more sustainable approach would be to add more variety to your program and cut back on the volume of your training focus while keeping intensity high.
